The Hassles of Being a Guy

Don’t get me wrong, it’s great being a guy. No monthly periods to worry about, no need to bear children, no biological clock ticking and best of all, it doesn’t matter that we’re in the 21st century, it’s still easier for men to find sex than women.

However, there are hassles that we men usually need to cope with that are exclusive to our species. Here are some of them:

1. Our manhood is a separate entity from our body. It does what it wants and when it suits it. I don’t mean to say that we have sex without us wanting to or without having any control over our actions. I’m talking more about being aroused and being found out that we are. It could be really embarrassing, particularly when we’re in a place or a situation where it would be impolite to show such human reaction. But the evidence would be there for everyone to see and there’s nothing we can do about it.

2. There are moments when we have to fight whether we like to or not. There are times when men are expected to defend their honor (or someone else’s) through a fist fight. Our adversary might be three times bigger than us, but we need to rise to the occasion. We can always run, but that wouldn’t look too hot.

3. We’re always expected to provide for the family. Even though most women these days are as capable as men of providing for their families, they still wouldn’t look half as bad as men if they failed to do so. Not that we’re complaining, we just think it’s unfair when people claim that men have all the advantages.
